Papers of the non-stock corporation which publishes "The Progressive" magazine, consisting primarily of correspondence of editor Morris H. Rubin and others with contributors and readers. The collection documents the publishing history of the "The Progressive" during editor Rubin's tenure through extensive files of correspondence, and smaller files of reorganizational, circulation, and promotional material. Only a small number of manuscript articles are present. There are some unprocessed additions.

Robert Marion La Follette Sr. (June 14, 1855 – June 18, 1925), colloquially known as Fighting Bob, was an American lawyer and politician. He represented Wisconsin in both chambers of Congress and served as the Governor of Wisconsin. A Republican for most of his career, he ran for President of the United States as the nominee of his own Progressive Party in the 1924 presidential election. Historian John D. Buenker describes La Follette as "the most celebrated figure in Wisconsin history." Born...
